U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday that peace talks with Iran are "continuing at a rapid pace," following reports that Tehran suspended negotiations with the United States in protest over Israel's intensifying attacks in Lebanon.

Trump made the remarks in a social media post, saying that Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group will not attack each other, citing his separate phone talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hezbollah representatives.
