Frustrated by the Minister’s evasive tactics, the fellows are organizing a fresh mobilization to directly confront the Head of Service.

Fresh bureaucratic manipulation has stalled the automatic employment of the 774 National Health Fellows (NHF), as the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare has refused to formally transmit their recruitment files to the appropriate quarters.

An insider update from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) obtained by SaharaReporters on Monday, June 1, 2026, revealed that there is currently no official record of the National Health Fellows recruitment process within the office.

Instead of a formal, written administrative communication required by civil service rules, the Health Minister merely placed a casual telephone call to the Head of Service of the Federation, leaving the file containing the fates of 774 young medical professionals gathering dust on his desk.

The deliberate delay comes two weeks after the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) officially wrote to the Federal Ministry of Health to expedite the process, sparking heavy outrage among the fellows who accuse the President Bola Tinubu administration of playing cruel games with their lives and livelihoods.
