Jill Biden is giving an update on her husband's health a year after former President Joe Biden was diagnosed with cancer.During a June 1 interview on NBC's "Today" to promote her new memoir, the former first lady said Biden is "doing OK" despite his ongoing battle with prostate cancer."You know how tough it is," she told host Craig Melvin, whose brother Lawrence Meadows died from colon cancer in 2020.The former president was diagnosed with an "aggressive form" of prostate cancer that spread to the bone in May 2025, according to his spokesperson.The 83-year-old underwent radiation therapy in October 2025 and was also being treated using hormone therapy, a spokesperson said at the time. In September 2025, Biden's spokesperson also announced that the former president had surgery to treat skin cancer.Jill Biden says Joe Biden will 'live with cancer' for 'the rest of his life'Jill Biden said the cancer spreading has complicated her husband's diagnosis."I think if he had just been, you know, diagnosed with prostate cancer, that’s one thing, because that can be cured," she said. Doctors found a "small nodule" on his prostate during an exam.According to the Mayo Clinic, prostate cancer is usually found early, and grows slowly, so many people recover from it.
