P. Akash assumed office as the District Collector of Madurai District, on Monday. Prior to this posting he served as the District Collector of Nagapattinam district. He replaces K. J. Praveen Kumar who was posted as the District Collector of Nagapattinam district.Mr. Akash has previously served as Additional Collector in Dharmapuri district, Sub-Collector in Dindigul and Tirunelveli districts; Regional Deputy Commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation and Executive Director of Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board.He has also previously served as the District Collector of Tenkasi district, Joint Secretary of Labour Welfare and Skill Development Department and Executive Director of State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu.
