State-owned miner NMDC’s iron ore production in May rose almost 20% year on year to 5.31 million tonne, while sales declined.The year earlier output was 4.43 MT. Sales last month stood at 4.04 MT (4.34 MT). For April, NMDC had reported a 16% increase in production to 4.64 MT (4 MT) and a marginal increase in sales to 3.68 MT (3.63 MT).The company, which is India’s largest iron ore producer, had in FY26 registered a record 53.15 MT output of the key raw material for steel, which was 21% more than 44.07 MT in the previous fiscal.
