The Sri Lankan Navy arrested six refugees who went illegally in a boat from Tamil Nadu.Due to the economic crisis that arose in Sri Lanka, more than 320 Sri Lankan Tamils who came as refugees to Dhanushkodi over the past three years have been temporarily housed by the Tamil Nadu government at the Mandapam camp on humanitarian grounds without being arrested.In this situation, six people who were staying at the Tamil Rehabilitation Camp went illegally via boat and landed on the seventh sandbar.During their patrol, the Sri Lankan Navy rescued the six individuals and handed them over to the Thalaimannar Police Station.Upon investigation, it was revealed that the six individuals are Sasikumar, 46, Kalaiselvi, 41, Rajithan 20, Abhishekeswaran, 8, Sliya. 12, and Akkineswari, 78, from the Mullaithivu and Puthukudiyiruppu areas, who had come to Tamil Nadu during the economic crisis in Sri Lanka and were staying at the Mandapam camp.Following this incident, Ramanathapuram police are investigating those who illegally helped the refugees staying at the Mandapam camp to travel by boat.
