The union accused Tinubu of prioritising political calculations for the 2027 general elections while Nigerians remain in captivity under harsh and life-threatening conditions.

The Yoruba Union, Ìgbìnmó Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá, has accused President Bola Tinubu of failing to address the worsening insecurity across Nigeria, particularly the continued abduction of schoolchildren, teachers, women, and rural residents by terrorists.

The union accused Tinubu of prioritising political calculations for the 2027 general elections while Nigerians remain in captivity under harsh and life-threatening conditions.

The group said the President has continued “laughing and snapping pictures with politicians” while kidnapped women and children suffer in terrorist camps without certainty about their survival.

This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Convener of the union, Olusola Badero, through the organisation’s Home Director, Princess Balogun.
