The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) is implementing a series of reforms aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency, and public confidence in the recruitment process, Chairman Burra Venkatesham announced on Monday.Addressing the media, Mr. Venkatesham said the Commission would issue recruitment notifications on a monthly basis.“We will be releasing three notifications on June 2 (today), and at least five notifications will be issued during this month. The process will continue every month,” he said.He noted that the State Finance Department has granted approval to fill 3,800 vacancies across 28 departments, including 1,393 Forest Beat Officer posts. However, he pointed out at the uneven distribution of vacancies across categories.“The vacancies are highly disproportionate. As many as 28 categories have only one vacancy each, while another 25 categories have fewer than five vacancies,” he said. The Commission is exploring recruitment models such as multi-zone and district-wise selections to ensure balanced competition and wider opportunities for candidates.Mr. Venkatesham also expressed confidence in the adoption of computer-based tests (CBTs) as the preferred mode of examination, citing their potential to curb malpractice and strengthen transparency.“With the online mode, there is scope to prepare or modify question papers even an hour before the examination begins. This enhances security and fairness in the examination process,” he said.Emphasising the Commission’s commitment to modernising recruitment, he added that the TGPSC is considering conducting all future examinations through the CBT mode.
