A 28-year-old man died and two others were injured after a Thar SUV they were driving in plunged into an agricultural well at Morapalli village in Jagtial Rural mandal on Sunday night. The BAC levels of the survivors was above 200, said an officer from the Jagtial Rural police.The deceased was identified as Dasari Arun, 28, of Jagtial. The injured were identified as B. Nivesh and Ashwin.According to preliminary information, the three youths were travelling in the vehicle when the accident occurred at around 9.30 p.m. Arun, who was driving the SUV, allegedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and fall into a roadside agricultural well.Officials said Nivesh and Ashwin, who were seated in the rear of the vehicle, managed to escape with injuries from the rear door of the car. They reportedly climbed out and alerted local residents after the vehicle became submerged. “However, Arun was trapped inside the SUV and could not be rescued in time. Water pressure prevents doors from opening easily underwater,” said an officer, adding that Nivesh and Ashwin said that they were watching the IPL final at the time of the mishap.Rescue operations continued for nearly four hours, with personnel working until around 1.30 a.m. on Monday to retrieve the vehicle and recover the body.Police said the occupants had allegedly consumed alcohol before the accident.
