Residents of Pullukadu have complained that sewage has been overflowing onto a road in the area repeatedly, causing inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians.According to the public, wastewater from an underground drainage line on Pullukadu Road has been flowing continuously onto the road, leading to stagnation at several spots. They said the problem has made commuting difficult, particularly during peak hours.Motorists R. Karthikeyan and S. Prabhu said two-wheelers and other vehicles were forced to pass through the sewage-covered stretch, with wastewater splashing onto road users. They said the stagnant sewage emitted a foul odour and posed health concern for people living in and around the area. They urged the Coimbatore Corporation to identify the source of the overflow and rectify the issue.A Corporation official said a blockage in the underground drainage line connected to a nearby pumping station had been rectified recently by replacing the affected section. However, fish waste being discharged into the drainage network from the nearby fish market was causing fresh blockages, leading to sewage overflow on the road. The official said steps were being taken to address the issue and prevent recurrence of the problem.
