According to the father, his son was hale, healthy, and showed no sign of illness at the time police officers reportedly came to their house and took him away.

The parents of a deceased young man in Kano State have accused officers attached to Zone 1 of the Nigeria Police Force of killing their son while he was in police custody.

The grieving father and mother are now calling on the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu; Kano State Commissioner of Police; Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 1, and the Kano State Government to investigate the circumstances surrounding their son’s death and ensure justice is served.

In a video seen by SaharaReporters, the visibly distraught parents, who spoke in Hausa, narrated how police officers arrested their son while he was healthy and later informed the family that he was unwell, only for them to discover that he had died.

However, they did not disclose the reason for their son’s arrest.
