Sri Sathya Sai District Collector A. Shyam Prasad launched the second round of fuel conservation awareness drive by riding an electric bike here on Monday. He appealed to the public to reduce fuel consumption and adopt environmentally sustainable alternatives. Mr. Shyam Prasad had inaugurated the campaign earlier on May 18.As part of the energy conservation initiative, the Collector reached the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) venue at the Collectorate on an electronic bike. He later went around the town on the bike, culminating his journey at the Tahsildar office in Yenumulapalle locality, where he inaugurated a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra.Interacting with the public, Mr. Shyam Prasad said that they should take personal responsibility for conserving fuel and protecting the environment. “Every individual should make an effort to minimise fuel usage, even if only for a day, to contribute towards a cleaner and greener future for posterity,” the Collector said.The Collector highlighted that encouraging the use of electric vehicles as an alternative to conventional fuel-powered transport would help reduce pollution and preserve natural resources for future generations. “Sustainable mobility solutions form a key solution to address environmental challenges,” he said.Former Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy also joined the campaign and accompanied the Collector.
