With the new purchase, Amazon's cumulative investment in land acquisitions at this location has risen to nearly Rs 575 crore, while its combined landholding there has expanded to nearly 49 acres.The company has acquired this non-agricultural land spread across Asode and Burdul villages in Ambernath taluka of Thane district from the listed developer. The transaction was registered on May 26 and involved stamp duty payment of Rs 7.51 crore, showed documents accessed through CRE Matrix, a realty data analytics platform.The land parcel carries permissible development potential of 1,07,367.5 square metres, or nearly 1.16 million sq ft, allowing economic activities including development of a data centre and ancillary facilities. In 2022, the company acquired a 54-acre land parcel in Thane for over Rs 1,870 crore in one of the country's largest land transactions for a hyperscale data centre development.The company has also leased multiple land parcels from Larsen & Toubro in Mumbai's Powai suburb. In 2023, Amazon Data Services India leased a four-acre land parcel from the engineering and construction major through a long-term arrangement for development of a data centre.
