Traditional rulers from Osun West Senatorial District have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the reconstruction of the 90.9-kilometre Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan Road, describing the project as a major intervention that will boost economic and social activities across the South-West.

The monarchs also praised Adegboyega Oyetola, the minister of Marine and Blue Economy, for facilitating the approval of the project.

The commendation was conveyed in a letter dated May 27, 2026, and addressed to the President. The letter, signed by traditional rulers across the senatorial district and led by the Oluwo of Iwo, Abdurasheed Adewale Akanbi, was presented to Oyetola at his residence in Iragbiji, Osun State, on Thursday for onward delivery to Tinubu.

The royal fathers recalled that Oyetola had pledged to facilitate the reconstruction of the road while representing the President at the coronation of the 41st Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Adesuyi Clement Haastrup, on May 23, 2025.

In the letter, the monarchs described the approval of the road project as evidence of the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and economic growth.
