Snack makers who allegedly made and sold "dujjonku" and other internet-viral sweets without proper business registration have been referred to prosecutors.
Four individuals and one company were charged with violating the Food Sanitation Act after the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety launched an investigation following information that two popular desserts — the Dubai-style chewy cookie, known as dujjonku, and Shanghai Butter
tteok (rice cake) — were being manufactured and distributed illegally in Gyeonggi.
