The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has confirmed that its operatives rescued a trapped driver and passenger following a multi-vehicle crash along the Motorway inward Toll-Gate corridor in the Ogudu-Alapere axis of Lagos State.
The incident involved a heavily laden 12-tyre DAF articulated truck and a commercial Volkswagen T4 bus marked AA 60 YF, which was severely damaged in the collision.
In a statement issued by the agency’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA said the crash resulted in a dangerous obstruction and left occupants of the bus trapped.
“Preliminary security investigations revealed that the commercial bus somersaulted following a violent impact, leaving both its driver and a passenger trapped within the severely mangled wreckage, while simultaneously causing a major obstruction along the affected carriageway,” the statement read.
