The group made the allegation in a press release issued on Sunday, signed by its Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, in which it also described the claims as “false, illogical and malicious.”
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has accused what it described as “Yoruba Christian elements” of mounting a hate campaign against Yoruba Muslims and Islamic groups, following allegations that the organisation and other Muslim actors were linked to the invitation of Boko Haram and bandits into the South-West.
The group made the allegation in a press release issued on Sunday, signed by its Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, in which it also described the claims as “false, illogical and malicious.”
According to Akintola, MURIC had been targeted over a viral social media post by an individual who allegedly claimed that the group had radicalised clerics in the region.
“We are in possession of a satanic tweet in which the author alleged that MURIC had radicalized Islamic clerics in the South West and those clerics are inviting terrorists to the region,” the statement read.
