Conservancy workers of Thoothukudi Corporation recovered and returned a five sovereign gold chain to a woman that had accidentally fallen into the garbage.On Sunday morning, sanitation workers collected waste from various areas, including Anna Nagar third street and transported it to the composting centre in Kathirvel Nagar.A resident of Anna Nagar third street identified as Muthumalai had disposed of her household waste in the collection vehicle as usual. Later, she realised that her purse which she had tucked in her waist was missing, which reportedly contained a five sovereign gold chain.Suspecting that the purse might have been accidentally discarded along with the garbage, she rushed to the composting centre in Kathirvel Nagar and informed the officials.Acting on the request, sanitation workers emptied the contents of the vehicle and began searching for the purse. After thorough inspection, they found the purse containing the gold chain.Vehicle driver Esakkiraja and sanitation workers Muneeswari, Rani and Pon Selvi participated in the search.Upon learning about the incident Thoothukudi Corporation Mayor Jegan Periyasamy and Corporation Commissioner S.
