Abiola Akinyemi, founder, holdbodí, has reiterated the importance of ensuring that no Nigerian child goes to bed hungry in celebration of this year’s Children’s Day.

“holdbodí was created to make food access easier, and this outreach reminded us that food access remains an everyday reality for many people,” Akinyemi stated during the holdbodí community support in commemoration of 2026 Children’s Day.

Every May 27, the world celebrates ‘Children’s Day’; however, stakeholders stated that ensuring save spaces for Nigerian children will help deepen their level of involvement in community engagement.

Over the past year, holdbodí has worked to improve food access through flexible payment options, personal food shopping, and community-centered support initiatives.

“What started as a Children’s Day outreach became a wider moment of community support across Lagos,” Akinyemi stated.
