A court ruled that the death of a factory manager who suffered a brain bleed after a heated argument with a co-worker was a work-related accident.
The lawsuit was filed by the family of the deceased factory manager against the Korea Workers’ Compensation and Welfare Service (K-Comwel), which had denied that the worker’s death was work-related and refused to provide survivor benefits and funeral expenses, according to legal sources on Sunday. The court ruled in favor of the family.

The factory manager, who oversaw production operations at a manufacturing company, became involved in a heated dispute with a worker who was using a crane for unloading operations on March 15, 2024. The argument was over the receipt of a work instruction document.
