More than UAH 60 billion has been allocated to increase salaries for education workers starting September 1.

Ukraine's Education and Science Minister Oksen Lisovyi said this in an interview with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Ukrinform reports.

"Compared to 2025, our budget has increased by UAH 75 billion. A large part of these funds is invested in infrastructure, and the largest share is salaries. If we talk about this increase of UAH 75 billion, these are funds we received from the Ministry of Finance to implement the president's instruction to raise teachers' salaries. We are committed to increasing salaries by the start of the 2026-2027 academic year compared to the start of 2025-2026 by 50%. So more than UAH 60 billion has been allocated for this need. This increase also applies to university lecturers," Lisovyi said.
