District Collector G. Priyanka has ordered the removal of debris from national highway worksites within the North Paravur Assembly constituency where construction is under way.The directive was issued at a meeting of the District Development Committee (DDC) on Saturday (May 29, 2026) after Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan’s representative raised the matter. He also conveyed the Chief Minister’s instruction that responses to issues raised at DDC meetings should be provided within ten days.Kothamangalam MLA Shibu Thekkumpuram informed the meeting that he would hold discussions with Forest Minister Shibu Baby John on June 8 regarding problems posed by wild animals in Kothamangalam. He said the wild tusker causing trouble in Kottapady panchayat would be trapped and relocated at the earliest. The maintenance of solar fencing installed in various parts of the constituency to prevent wild animals from straying into human habitations would also be taken up, Mr. Thekkumpuram added.The representative of Fisheries Minister V.E. Abdul Gafoor demanded urgent measures to address drinking water shortages in the Karumaloor, Kunnukara and Alangad panchayats.Additional District Magistrate Shaiju P.
