Southern Railway Additional General Manager Vipin Kumar inspected the Palakkad–Madukkarai railway section on Saturday and reviewed measures being implemented to prevent train–elephant collisions along the Kerala–Tamil Nadu border.During the inspection, he reviewed the ongoing implementation of the Elephant Intrusion Detection System (EIDS), inspected key installations and monitored operations at EIDS control rooms. He also visited the Tamil Nadu Forest Department’s AI-based control room engaged in monitoring elephant movement near railway tracks.Mr. Kumar assessed the progress of development works at Madukkarai Yard and reviewed infrastructure projects being carried out at the Palakkad Second Entry.The inspection was attended by Palakkad Divisional Railway Manager Madhukar Roat and senior railway officials.
