As part of the intensified safety arrangements during the Deepavali season, the Palakkad division of Southern Railway has implemented a series of measures to ensure the safety, security, and convenience of passengers amid the expected festive rush.

All major stations, including Mangaluru Central, Mangaluru Junction, Kannur, Kozhikode, Shoranur Junction, Palakkad Junction, and Pollachi Junction, are on high alert, with coordinated efforts from commercial, operating, security, and medical teams to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for all passengers during the festive period.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) has stepped up intensive checks to prevent carriage of inflammable materials and crackers in trains and on station premises. Dedicated RPF teams are deployed round-the-clock to maintain heightened vigil across major stations, a release from the division said on Saturday.

To manage the increased passenger flow, crowd control arrangements have been strengthened by forming orderly queues and deploying additional staff for passenger guidance and regulation. Ticket checking staff have been conducting intensive drives to curb ticketless travel and prevent unauthorised entry into platforms and trains.
