One person was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after an allegedly speeding car crashed into a building in Auckland in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A police spokesperson told Stuff a vehicle allegedly travelling at excess speed passed a police vehicle on Springs Road, East Tāmaki at around 1.05am.
Police lost sight of the vehicle and did not have an opportunity to signal for it to stop, the spokesperson said.

The allegedly speeding vehicle then crashed into a building a short distance away, near the intersection of Harris Road and Ti Rakau Drive.
