Romanian President Nicușor Dan stated that the Russian drone that crashed into a high-rise residential building in the Romanian city of Galați was likely affected by Ukrainian air defense, after which it changed its flight path.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Romania Journal.

“As they passed through Ukrainian territory, some of them were shot down, and one of them, probably hit over the city of Reni, changed its trajectory and came towards Galati,” said the Romanian president.

He emphasized that Russia bears responsibility for this incident, adding that residents can return to their apartments, with the exception of the family that was directly affected by the explosion.

Dan also clarified that the two victims currently in the hospital have minor injuries and are already recovering.
