TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) launched a new official mobile app and contactless fare payment system across Los Angeles County on Thursday, May 28, ahead of major global events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.As reported by ANTARA, LA Metro officials say the new technology is designed to create a more connected, convenient, and user-friendly transit system for residents and international visitors.The new fare payment system allows passengers to tap contactless credit or debit cards, digital wallets, or wearable devices at Metro's electronic ticket gates and bus validation machines. Customers can also pay fares for up to four additional passengers using one card.According to LA Metro, the payment system is available on all Metro services and those of participating regional transit agencies.
