Segilola Resources Operating Limited has commissioned new infrastructure and community business projects in Osun State as the firm ramps up corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at strengthening ties with host communities around its mining operations.

The projects were inaugurated during a visit by the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, to the company’s operations in Odo-Ijesa, where he was received by Olusola Olusomidomo, the deputy general manager, on behalf of Segun Lawson the chief executive officer.

Oba Haastrup toured the Segilola Gold Mine and inspected several community development projects executed under the company’s Community Development Agreement commitments.

Among the projects commissioned were the rehabilitation of the Imogbara-Odo-Ijesha road corridor, a renovated palace for the Olumolu of Imogbara and a block of classrooms at Imogbara Primary School.

The company said the projects are part of broader efforts to support infrastructure development, improve livelihoods and expand economic opportunities in communities hosting the gold mining operation.
