The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, South-West Zone D, on Friday, called on Nigerian First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu to use her state visit to Ekiti to influence immediate release of kidnapped teachers and students at both public and private schools in Ahoro Esienle community in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo state.
In a statement issued by the Coordinator of NANS, South-West Zone D, Kayode Adeyemo, in Ibadan, lamented that the incident had left families of abductees devastated, communities traumatized, and many Nigerians anxiously awaiting the safe return of the victims.
The association said it remained deeply concerned about the continued captivity of the abducted students and teachers, saying it acknowledges the efforts already being undertaken by security agencies and relevant authorities.
The PUNCH reports that scores of teachers and students were abducted during coordinated attacks on Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota, Community Grammar School and L.A. Primary School, Esiele, in Oriire Local Government Area of the state, penultimate Friday.
