Hailing the fire and rescue services personnel for safely rescuing a bull, which had fallen inside a 60-feet deep well near Tiruchuli in Virudhunagar district, the public appealed to the officials to ensure open wells were protected on Friday.Two days ago, the owner of the bull Jithan from Madurai had come to Tiruchuli to participate in a competition. After the event was over, the bull, had reportedly gone missing. When a search was on by the villagers of Nellikulam, near Tiruchuli, they heard a loud noise from a nearby well.After spotting the bull in the well, they alerted the fire and rescue department. Immediately, a team led by Station Fire Officer Chandrasekar arrived at the spot.After ascertaining that the well was 60-feet deep and that the bull had fallen to a depth of 10-feet, the firefighters got into the act. The struggle, which went on for about seven hours, turned fruitful, as they pulled the animal safely using ropes and other gadgets.The bull was tired but stable and the villagers were in an upbeat mood.
