A year after Operation Sindoor, Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) is laying a bigger emphasis on counter drone technology operational as it increases security arrangements in airports on the northern frontier.Last year, during the border clash with Pakistan, multiple airports near the northern border saw incursion by Pakistani drones leading to closure of flight operations.On Friday, director general Praveer Ranjan held a high level meeting with senior officers and unit commanders of various units where detailed discussions were held on strengthening security preparedness, enhancing response capabilities through better inter-agency coordination.To counter low-altitude aerial threats effectively, the CISF has rolled out a phased Counter-Drone Training Programme for its personnel in close collaboration with the Indian Army. Conducted at multiple specialized locations, this program equips personnel with advanced capabilities to detect, track, and neutralize hostile Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAVs).China is building launch pads near its nuclear missile silos“The review is significant in view of evolving security challenges in border and strategically sensitive regions, particularly in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Gujarat.
