Premier League data has revealed that Arsenal and Chelsea were the biggest beneficiaries of VAR and refereeing mistakes during the 2025-26 season.
According to findings from the Premier League’s Key Match Incidents (KMI) panel obtained from BBC Sport’s website on Friday, Arsenal benefited from seven incorrect decisions across the campaign, while Chelsea gained from eight.
The report comes after Arsenal won the Premier League title under Mikel Arteta while becoming the first club to complete a season without conceding a penalty or receiving a red card.
However, the KMI panel found that the Gunners should have conceded three penalties and also received three red cards during the season.
