Eight die as tourist van with 13 from Kerala falls off Valparai ghat roadEight persons died and five others suffered injuries after a tourist van with passengers from Malappuram district in Kerala met with an accident on the ghat section of Valparai - Pollachi Road.The police said the accident took place when driver Mohammed Fasith (21) negotiated the 13th hairpin bend while descending the ghat section. He was driving with 12 tourists from Perinthalmanna of Malappuram.Fasith lost control of the van, which nosedived from the 13th hairpin bend to the ninth bend.3. Income Tax officials search premises linked to aides of Senthilbalaji in KarurIncome Tax Department officials carried out searches on the premises linked to the associates of former Minister and DMK’s Coimbatore South candidate V. Senthilbalaji in Karur.The house of PWD contractor M.C.S. Sankar, Kongu Mess, and Sakthi Mess were among the properties where searches were undertaken.
