Maddox Jolie-Pitt is ready to remove the Fight Club star's surname from his own.‌Maddox filed paperwork requesting a legal name change. He is requesting to drop the "Pitt" from his last name, changing his name to be simply "Maddox Chivan Jolie."‌The filing comes after Maddox had already changed his professional name to remove his dad's surname. In the credits to Angelina's latest movie, their son is listed as simply Maddox Jolie. He worked as an assistant director on the production of Couture.‌The couple are parents to Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and 17-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.Maddox isn't the first of the former pair's kids to change their surname. Shiloh changed her name legally too. Zahara also informally dropped it, while Vivienne's surname was removed from the playbill for a recent Broadway production she worked on.‌In 2021, Maddox testified against his dad during his acrimonious divorce from Angelina Jolie. According to reports in the States at the time, Maddox gave "testimony as [an] adult in the ongoing custody dispute, and it wasn’t very flattering towards Brad”.It was said that an alleged run-in between Maddox and Pitt was said to have been the final straw for Jolie. The Hollywood actress, married her Mr and Mrs Smith co-star Brad, 62, in 2014 after more than a decade ago but they decided to divorce just five years later in 2019.Earlier this year, it was said Jolie was set to leave her stateside life behind briefly and settle in Europe. It's claimed she will split her time between Europe and New York, all in a bid for "more privacy," her long-time friend and actor Jae Benjamin, has claimed.‌Speaking to PageSix in January, he said: "She can’t get far enough away from the drama … the only way to take a break is to get out."She’ll go and decompress – only working on things that drive her heart, soul and passion.
