The Ghanaian government has dismissed as fake a widely circulated notice claiming that the Government of Cambodia ordered citizens of the West African country, and several other African countries, to leave the Southeast Asian nation by May 31, 2026, or face arrest and imprisonment.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that the Cambodian government denied reports that African nationals with expired immigration waivers have been ordered to leave the country by May 31.
In a press clarification issued on Friday, the General Department of Immigration under Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior described the reports as “completely untrue.”
