TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto welcomed the establishment of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council as a strategic step to strengthen economic and investment ties between Indonesia and France.“We want to strengthen this cooperation and increase investment in both countries. I am very pleased and welcome the establishment of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council,” Prabowo said, as monitored through the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube broadcast in Jakarta on Thursday.According to Prabowo, the high-level business forum would serve as an important platform to encourage closer collaboration between Indonesian and French business communities while opening new mutually beneficial investment opportunities.“I believe this is very important, and we are very pleased with the participation and presence of French companies in the Indonesian economy,” he said.Prabowo said France is one of Europe’s leading powers with a strategic role in relations with Southeast Asia.He added that strengthening the economic partnership between Indonesia and France would provide significant benefits for regional stability and economic growth.The president also stated that Indonesia-France relations had now entered a new phase through a comprehensive strategic partnership.During the meeting, the two leaders discussed several strategic agendas that have become shared priorities for both countries.The issues discussed included cooperation in defense, clean energy development, education, research, and the implementation of the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA).Prabowo expressed hope that the agreements and initiatives currently being developed would further strengthen Indonesia-France relations and deliver tangible benefits for both countries.Read: Prabowo: Indonesian Schools Should Teach French at All Levels
