Intel’s new Arc G3 Extreme processor is a mobile chip that combines a 14-core processor with 12-core Intel Arc B390 integrated graphics to offer the kind of performance you’d expect from an entry-level discrete GPU. Based on the same architecture as Intel’s Panther Lake chips, this processor is made specifically for gaming handhelds like the upcoming Acer Predator Atlas 8 and the ONEXPLAYER 3.While the name would suggest that this is the third handheld gaming PC from ONEXPLAYER, the company has actually released so many variations over the years that I’ve lost count. But this new model brings together some pretty nifty features including Intel’s high-performance, energy-efficient processor, a high-quality display, and detachable controllers.The handheld is basically a tablet with an 8.8 inch OLED display with variable refresh rate up to 144 Hz and a pair of detachable controllers that connect to the left and right sides to give you RGB backlit analog sticks with hall effect sensors, a D-Pad, action buttons, and shoulder triggers. You can also attach the controllers to a base to turn them into a single wireless controller unit.Other features include an 85 Wh battery, stereo front-facing speakers, and a set of ports that includes USB4, USB Type-A, and a 3.5mm audio jack. But Intel says we can expect systems with Arc G3 series processors later this year, and ONEXPLAYER maker One Netbook has shared a preview page for an upcoming crowdfunding campaign for the ONEXPLAYER 3.
