According to her, there was no genuine electoral process in the area, alleging that some party leaders had hijacked the structure and were undermining internal democracy within the APC.
Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, the former senator who represented Abia Central Senatorial District, has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over alleged injustice and manipulation of the party’s internal electoral process.
Nwaogu, a former member of the House of Representatives who represented Osisioma Ngwa/Obingwa/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, confirmed her resignation from the APC on Thursday, May 28.
“I can confirm that I have left the party,” Nwaogu said.
The former lawmaker blamed her decision on the conduct of the APC primary election in her senatorial zone, insisting that the exercise that produced the party's candidate for the Senatorial District, Emeka Atuma, lacked transparency.
