Apple’s most famous voice assistant is getting a personality transplant. Bloomberg published images of the company’s planned Siri redesign ahead of the official June 8 WWDC announcement, and what they show is less “Hey Siri, set a timer” and more “let me have an actual conversation with my phone.”
The overhaul turns Siri into a standalone app with persistent conversation history, file and image uploads, and privacy features like auto-deleting chats.
From voice assistant to AI chatbot
iOS 27 changes that formula entirely. The new Siri app maintains conversation threads, meaning it can reference what you discussed earlier. It accepts file and image uploads, positioning it as a workspace tool rather than just a hands-free search engine.
Chat histories can be set to auto-delete, giving users granular control over what sticks around and what disappears.
