Anthropic is planting a flag in Italy. The AI safety company announced on May 21 that it will open a new office in Milan, adding Southern Europe to a continental footprint that has grown remarkably fast.
Milan becomes Anthropic’s sixth European office launched in under a year. The new hub follows offices in London, Dublin, Zurich, Paris, and Munich, the latter two of which opened in late 2025.
The numbers behind the push
Anthropic has reported more than a 9x year-on-year increase in run-rate revenue across the EMEA region. Large-business accounts in the same geography are up roughly 10x over the same period.
Chris Ciauri, Anthropic’s managing director of international operations, framed the move in straightforward terms.
