As attention fragments online, Rappler brings its award-winning storytelling into a masterclass — for professionals, brands, and advocates — on creating vertical videos that cut through noise and drive action
MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Vertical video is now the internet’s dominant language. But in an age of algorithm shifts, generative AI, and endless scrolling, what actually makes people stop and care? More importantly, how can you create videos that stand out and move people?
Led by Rappler journalist JC Gotinga, “Scrollproof: A Vertical Video Masterclass” is a practical, inspiring, and future-facing workshop on building effective vertical videos in 2026, from a newsroom perspective.
Grounded in how journalists tell stories that inform and inspire action, this workshop explores what makes short-form videos resonate today. This introductory masterclass will be held at the Rappler newsroom on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 9 am to 5 pm.
From scripting and pacing to platform realities, and storytelling principles, participants will gain practical tools, context, and inspiration to create more human-centered videos for brands, organizations, communities, and causes.
