The South African Funeral Practitioners Association (SAFPA) has struck a collaboration deal with its international counterparts to conduct a seamless repatriation of the mortal remains of their clients when they die abroad.
This was one of the major resolutions from the four-day inaugural SAFPA International Conference, as stated by its president, Dr Nomfundo Mcoyi.
The event, which attracted delegates from the US, Colombia, and Malaysia, as well as many African countries, was held in Durban from Sunday and ended on Wednesday.
Delivering her closing address at a gala dinner on Wednesday evening, Mcoyi, the founder of Icebolethu Funeral Group, said the agreement was a milestone towards the realisation of SAFPA’s Vision 2030, where the organisation hopes to unite all funeral practitioners in the world to work together.
