A true crime documentary series is headed to ITVX and viewers don't have long to wait11:00, 28 May 2026ITV is set to stream a crime series that has gripped viewers.Harlan Coben's Final Twist - which sees the author step into the true crime genre for the first time - aired in the US earlier this year, and it has now been announced that it will be added to ITVX.And fans of the writer, whose books have been turned into hit series such as Fool Me Once and Run Away, don't have long to wait, as the broadcaster has confirmed that the whole series will be available on June 21.The series is comprised of five episodes, with a synopsis saying: "Known for his twisting narratives and intricate plots, Harlan will guide audiences through gripping tales of murder and high-profile crimes."Each story is meticulously unravelled to reveal hidden truths. With exclusive interviews and never-before-seen archival materials, the series will provide an in-depth look at stories where nothing is as it seems."In the first instalment, which is called Billy & Billie Jean, the police find a couple murdered in their home, and the investigation leads to social media. Detectives then discover a bizarre cyberbullying conflict with a neighbouring family and the possible covert involvement of a CIA agent driven by personal vengeance.A description of episode two - titled Gambler’s Debt - says: "When Anna Mae, a wildly successful businesswoman, is found stabbed in her untouched home, detectives face a tangle of suspects and shifting motives. Each lead – casinos, hidden debts and even a fugitive linked to her family – seems to crack the case, until new questions upend everything once again."No Sign of Nancy looks at the case of a woman who vanishes from her property while hosting a wedding, while Who Killed Joy is about a woman who appears to have died in a fire but is later found to have been stabbed.Final instalment Shot in the Dark is about a woman whose husband was shot while she was sleeping next to him.The series was a hit when it aired in the US in January, with a Decider critic saying it "does a good job of giving viewers lots of surprises".Fans posted messages on social media calling it "gripping", with one saying on X: "I'm freaking hooked.""I am obsessed," someone else posted on the platform, which was formerly Twitter. Another viewer said they "gasped" as one of the stories unfolded."Loved it!" one person wrote on Instagram, as another said: "It’s too good."
