Africa accounts for 30% of orders from Russia’s state intermediary agency for trade of defense-related products, Rosoboronexport.

This information was made known by Alexander Mikheev, Director General of Rosoboronexport and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Union of Machine-Builders.

“Russia’s friendship with African nations is based on decades of relations of respect and trust. Our country has always provided comprehensive assistance to the people of the continent, helping them fight for independence, justice, and freedom, including with reliable and effective weapons,” Mikheev said.

During an address on Africa Day on the 25th, the director general noted that contracts for technological cooperation projects between Rosoboronexport and Africa are valued at around $1.7 billion.

“Today, Rosoboronexport has forty-six African countries among its partners, with whom it has signed intergovernmental agreements on military-technical cooperation.
