Channel 5 has teased: "Delia Balmer relives what it was like to live with a killer."But what happened with Delia and where is she now?‌Who is Delia Balmer?Delia is a former nurse at the Royal Free Hospital. Having encountered John at a London bar in 1991, the pair embarked on a relationship and, completely unaware of his real identity, Delia allowed him to move into her home.When she attempted to end the abusive relationship in 1994, he held her captive by restraining her to her bed and threatening her with a gun and knife.‌During a subsequent attack following a violation of police conditions, he launched himself at her with an axe outside her home, leaving her with life-altering injuries.Miraculously surviving the ordeal, she was left with both physical and emotional scars that took years to heal.Yet she has refused to let the terrifying assault and prolonged abuse define her, and today she is once again embracing all of her former passions.‌The Channel 5 documentary details the horrifying four days in 1994 when she was held hostage as well as the ambush attack she survived, when a neighbour bravely intervened with a baseball bat to save her life.Where is Delia Balmer now?Delia wrote her own book entitled Living With A Serial Killer - a compelling memoir chronicling her toxic relationship with John.‌Having worked as a therapeutic masseuse, she also enjoyed years of dancing and travelling whenever possible, with one of her most recent adventures being a trip to South Africa in 2023.Now, she will be in her 70s, and according to reports lives a private life in London.
