The global energy crisis continued to drive Chinese exports of low-carbon energy technologies higher in April. But monthly data demonstrates a more mixed picture than in March: China's electric vehicle (EV) exports in April were up by 33% from the previous month and 75% from April 2025, but solar and battery exports fell back after a change in tax incentives. Europe represents by far the biggest market for China's EV exports, but most other regions are seeing steady growth as well. The US EV market, by contrast, continues to stagnate.
