The chants reportedly broke out as the governor’s convoy struggled to navigate through the massive crowd gathered for the annual Eid-el-Kabir prayers in the Kwara State capital.

Scores of worshippers and residents at the Ilorin Central Eid praying ground on Wednesday erupted in anti-government chants directed at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, during Eid prayers in Ilorin.

The chants reportedly broke out as the governor’s convoy struggled to navigate through the massive crowd gathered for the annual Eid-el-Kabir prayers in the Kwara State capital.

In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, sections of the crowd were seen and heard repeatedly chanting in Yoruba, “APC wọlé lọ bi awada bi ère,” meaning “APC went down like a joke,” while others shouted that "Ramoni wole lọ b awada bi ere, meaning “AbdulRahman went down like a joke,” a rare open display of political dissatisfaction at a major public religious gathering in the state.
