Flushed with success after its record-breaking Artemis II mission around the moon, NASA has now outlined its plans for a first phase of a base on the moon.
It’s handing out hundreds of millions of federal dollars to private companies. Among those is Blue Origin – the space company of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos – to supply the rockets, lunar landers and moon buggies required.
With China also pushing ahead with its own lunar missions, its goal is to have US astronauts on the moon before President Trump leaves office.
