Ted Danson has joined the untitled Liz Heldens & Matt Ward comedy series currently in the works at Apple TV, Variety has confirmed.

Danson is the latest addition to the series, alongside previously announced star Elizabeth Banks and fellow cast member Rob Delaney.

The logline for the show states, “Fresh off a messy divorce, Heidi (Banks) sets out to secure a lively second act for herself and her kids. But when she stumbles into coordinating her father’s (Danson) retirement community sexcapades, Heidi is forced into an unlikely alliance with his girlfriend’s perpetually single son.”

Danson currently stars in the Netflix comedy series “A Man on the Inside,” which is prepping its third season. He also recently starred in the NBC comedy “The Good Place,” for which he earned three Emmy nominations for outstanding lead actor in a comedy. He has also been nominated for his guest appearances in the FX legal drama “Damages.” Danson is best known for his Emmy-winning starring role in the hit sitcom “Cheers,” on which he played barback/former baseball star/ladies man Sam Malone for 11 seasons.

He is repped by WME, Constellation Media Group, and Ziffren Brittenham.
