Applications have been invited for admission to government and private Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Mayiladuthurai district for 2026–27 academic year, according to Collector H.S. Srikanth.In a press release, the Collector said candidates could apply online through the official portal till June 3. Applicants should have completed at least 14 years of age. The maximum age limit for men is 40 years, while there is no upper age limit for women.Candidates seeking admission should submit educational certificates, community certificate, transfer certificate, Aadhaar card, e-mail ID, mobile number and photographs while applying online. Students aspiring to join the Government ITI at Sembanarkoil may also approach the institute principal directly with original certificates.The application fee is ₹50.The Collector said trainees studying in government ITIs would be eligible for several benefits, including a monthly stipend of ₹750, free uniforms, textbooks, drawing instruments, footwear, bicycles and free bus travel. Eligible students under the Tamil Pudhalvan and Pudhumaipen schemes would also receive ₹1,000 per month.Further, students admitted under the government quota in private ITIs would have their tuition fees borne by the government. Those successfully completing training would also be provided apprenticeship opportunities with stipends and campus placements in leading industries, the release added.
